Our team

The people behind your plan.

When you work with us, you work with the advisors whose names are on the door. You get a single point of contact who holds your entire financial picture, supported by a tax attorney and a CPA when the questions call for it.

Ruth D. Goldstein, CFP® and ChFEBC℠, founder of Mainstreet Financial Group CFP® certification mark

Ruth D. Goldstein

Founder & CEO · Investment Adviser · Chief Compliance Officer
CFP® Professional ChFEBC℠ Investment Adviser

Ruth founded Mainstreet Financial Group more than fifteen years ago and serves as a fiduciary registered in the state of Georgia. As a holistic financial planner, she coordinates estate, tax, retirement income, and risk management strategies into one plan, so the pieces of a client's financial life work together rather than in parallel.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant℠, Ruth brings particular depth to federal benefits, including FERS and CSRS pensions, the Thrift Savings Plan, and the decisions federal employees face as they approach retirement. Her focus is the same for every client she serves: clear guidance, given as a fiduciary, that helps them maximize what they have built and feel confident about what comes next.

Ahron Golding, Tax Attorney and Investment Adviser Representative at Mainstreet Financial Group

Ahron Golding

Tax Attorney · Investment Adviser Representative (IAR)
Tax Attorney Investment Adviser Representative

Ahron is a tax attorney and an Investment Adviser Representative, which lets him bring the legal and tax side of a financial plan together with the investment side. He works with Ruth to deliver tax-efficient financial planning and to design investment portfolios that account for the full tax picture, not just the returns.

Because so many financial decisions are also tax decisions, having a tax attorney working from the same plan means those connections are handled deliberately. Ahron also co-presents our retirement income planning sessions, where getting the tax questions right often makes the difference.

Alan Ovdat, CPA at Mainstreet Financial Group

Alan Ovdat

CPA · Business Owner Education
CPA Educational Instruction

Alan is a Certified Public Accountant who leads our educational instruction for business owners. He helps owners understand the financial and tax mechanics behind their decisions, so they can plan from a place of knowledge rather than guesswork.

His focus is teaching first. Business owners face a different set of questions than most, from the structure of their company to how its value eventually becomes personal income, and Alan helps make those questions clear before any plan is built.

Office staff

The people who keep it running

Linda Thomas, Client Services at Mainstreet Financial Group

Linda Thomas

Client Services

Linda is the operational and administrative backbone of our practice. With twenty years of experience in wealth management services, she is the primary point of contact between our advisors and clients, handling onboarding, account maintenance, and day-to-day questions so that working with us stays smooth from the first conversation onward.

Sam Kaplan, Technology Management and Operations at Mainstreet Financial Group

Sam Kaplan

Technology Management & Operations

Sam keeps the technology behind our practice working so the rest of us can focus on clients. He administers the core systems we rely on every day, from our CRM and portfolio rebalancing software to the client portal, and builds the repeatable processes behind onboarding, account transfers, and annual reviews. It is the behind-the-scenes work that most clients never see, and the reason everything runs smoothly and on time.

How we work together

One plan, three points of view

Financial decisions rarely sit in one box. A withdrawal strategy is also a tax decision; an exit from a business is also an income and estate decision. Having a planner, a tax attorney, and a CPA working from the same plan means those connections are handled deliberately, not left for you to coordinate between separate professionals who never speak to each other.

Let's see your whole picture, then build the plan around it.
